📊 How Handicaps Are Calculated & Updated
Automatic Updates: Your handicap is recalculated after each completed event when scores are archived. It also updates when you manually upload historical rounds.
Calculation Method: Your most recent 20 rounds are analyzed, and the best differentials are averaged based on the official USGA table (e.g. best 8 out of 20, best 3 out of 10, etc.), with any required adjustments applied. The handicap is capped at a maximum of 18.
Minimum Requirement: A provisional scoring-average handicap appears after 1 posted round. The USGA/WHS calculation begins after 3 posted rounds.
Pops Assignment: Your Pops are automatically calculated based on your handicap using the chart above. They update whenever your handicap changes.
Manual Recalculation: Admins can force-recalculate all handicaps using the "Update HCs" button above if needed for corrections.
